FAQs

How can I access sessions

If you would like face to face sessions I offer a Thursday clinic at a therapy centre in Wellingborough, I also offer home visits in some cases where leaving the house is difficult. I offer online sessions for those who would prefer to receive support from their home using Google Meet or Zoom during the day on Mondays and Wednesdays as well as some weekday evening slots.

I try to flex to the needs of the people I see so if you have any questions do get in contact and usually we can figure out a solution that works.

Is what I say confidential?

Therapy offers a safe, confidential and non judgmental space to talk. Anything that you say during our sessions is held in strict professional confidence.

Confidentiality will only be broken if I become concerned about your safety, or the safety of someone else. In this instance I am bound under my professional duty of care to break confidentiality so that I can seek support in order to ensure safety. In the very unlikely event that this needs to take place then I would always endeavour to do this with your full involvement.

Additionally, in order to provide you with the best care, I engage in regular supervision. This means that I may discuss your case anonymously with my supervising clinician, who is also bound by the strict rules of confidentiality.

How is my information kept safe?

I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and any information related to you is kept safe in accordance with data protection rules. Information about you would only be shared at your request and with your consent.

How many sessions will I need?

The answer to this question is that it varies. Everyone enters therapy with different needs and a different approach. To give an indication, research suggests that most difficulties related to anxiety or depression can be treated within 12 to 16 sessions. However if the problem is relatively new then it might only need half that number; if it is something that you have been struggling with for a while it could take longer.

At assessment we can discuss your individual needs and create a therapy approach that works for you.

How much will it cost?

Initial assessment appointments are £180 for a 90 minute session.

Subsequent appointments are £120 for 50 minute sessions.

Any extra communication that is required such as reports, letters or communication with other professionals is charged at £120 per hour.

Group sessions, training or corporate packages are priced on a case by case basis.
